It is a pleasure to discuss things with you, Nicholas. Thanks for making clear that the priest isn’t snacking on himself.
) I’m sure you really can’t answer this question, but in today’s world wouldn’t it be possible for a woman to also have Christ be the active source of the power to consecrate Communion? Tradition would say no. In spite of what you said above about the accuracy of the scriptures etc., humans are fallible and do make mistakes —and who is to say that those manuscripts are totally correct? Obviously the Church is going to say that they are. As for the faith/religion I follow? My on line name is to indicate that I do not believe that Jesus was a divine being, the son of God but an excellent teacher with much wisdom. (aren’t we all supposed to be children of God?). He accumulated followers that started a faith. Many other wise teachers have also started different faiths, not just Jesus. Many faith traditions older than Christianity. Personally, my spirituality is based on pulling the good (IMO) from all the faith sources, including the original “pagan” ones, which are still active in the world, fortunately. Confusing? No. All faith traditions, most certainly the Catholic one also, have wonderful lessons to teach. Married a born UU and raised our 2 children in the UU Church. They follow their own paths. Yes, I’m happy as I am and have been around long enough to know I don’t want to change things.
) I hope your friend is happy, and not feeling guilty about her bisexual feelings. Knew a bi-sexual male a long time ago (friend of my daughter) who was ultimately attracted to men. So, sometimes those who are bi-sexual tend to ultimately end up having one attraction.
Blessed Be
